E.H. Shepard drawings
"...Christopher Robin finished the mouthful he was eating and said carelessly: 'I saw a Heffalump to-day, Piglet.'"
There's a great collection of the original Winnie the Pooh drawings over at BibliOdyssey.
Double Take
Whenever I see the above cover, I see the Authority rather than Agents of Atlas. Maybe it's just because Jimmy Woo is looking so much like Jack Hawksmoor and the "looking -down-on-us-from-a-huddle" pose doesn't help much either...

Hergé to Tintin: "You make me sick!"
Hergé's correspondence went under the hammer last Friday. The letters were sold for 112,000 euros- ten times what they were expected to fetch. The letters chart his creative highs and lows:
"And right now, my work makes me sick. Tintin is no longer me. And I must make a terrible effort to invent [him]... If Tintin continues to live, it is through a sort of artificial respiration that I must constantly keep up and which is exhausting me."Full article here.

I'd love to see Pull My Daisy on the big screen, but a crappy rip on Google video may have to suffice for now:

Don't look so surprised...
...but I'm beginning to get excited about Frank Miller's adaptation of The Spirit. It looks entertaining to say the least- and in the end, isn't that all you want from a movie? Miller tells the LA Times:
I adored Will Eisner and took a real ‘Don’t tread on me’ approach when I came to this movie. At the same time, I was willing to tread all over it. I knew Will always wanted to do something fresh and new, not some stodgy old thing that aspires to be revered. I don’t want anybody to bow to this movie. I want a ripping good yarn. It is not an antique.

Golden Wing versus The Freezer
Check out Zander Cannon's 2008 24 hour comic here and you can get a behind the scenes commentary of the comic's creation here. It was really fun to hear about his writing method:
Also be sure to check out Zander and Kevin's 144 hour graphic novel challenge- 12 pages in 12 hours, once a month for a year. I think it goes without saying that these guys are hardcore.
Spoiler warning- he uses the Eastman variation! And it's so worth it!As with every year, I decided on a genre (this year, a superhero thriller), and then drew a Pictionary card to determine the plot points. This year, the card had the following words to be made into a plot:WingFreezerBrainwashingFig LeafWhite
