Kyle Baker's Dick Tracy

Book one of Kyle Baker's 1990 Dick Tracy miniseries was one of the first comics I ever bought. The third issue was pretty much a straight adaptation of the movie with the first two issues acting as a prequel. Baker's line is so clean and loose but at the same time he's still able to capture the sharp unique look of the characters as designed by Chester Gould (with the exception of Dick Tracy himself who had to look like Warren Beatty).

If you think that's realistic you've been on LSD your entire life. Sorry buddy. I want to shoot every fan boy who complains about the realistic-ness of flying people wearing capes and crashing into buildings. You want to pretend this unrealistic stuff is real because you take it WAYYYYY too damn seriously. You think photo-reference lends credibility to your fantasy world. You knoe it's time to grow up when you want Rogue and Gambit to seem "more real".
